Congratulations to Cllr Mike Thornton, the new Lib Dem MP for Eastleigh. Despite adverse publicity in the weeks before the by- election, it proves that hard-working Liberal  Democrats can and do win. Well done to Mike and all his team and commiserations to the Conservatives and Labour who were embarrasingly relegated to 3rd.and 4th.place,respectively, by the UKIP candidate.
